Edfords offers a weekly farm school sessions for 5-11 year olds throughout the year.
These groups are fully inclusive with children with and without additional needs, some home schooled while others are flexi schooled. the majority of the children attending have Special Educational Needs but this is an inclusive group with a variety of young children who are less likely to see a disability and more likely to just enjoy spending time with children around the same age in an environment they enjoy.
During these sessions we get involved in everyday farming activities including feeding livestock, mucking out, farm maintenance, learning about high welfare farming, rare breeds and our approach to sustainable, nature friendly farming. In January 2022 we will be introducing AQA Awards to these sessions so the children gain certificates for their achievements on the farm.
We also take the group on regular nature walks where we often collect items for our nature based seasonal craft activities
Edfords offers these sessions every Friday from 10:30 – 14:00
We also offer additional sessions during holidays for those in full time education, please see our Holiday Groups page for details.
