Work Skills
KS3, KS4, Post-16

Work Skills at Edfords Care Farm started in September 2020 and we are currently on our fourth academic year. Students attending work towards a bespoke curriculum designed to ensure students gain AQA Award Certificates in all aspects of our working farm. We have written a large part of this curriculum ourselves so the awards they complete are specific to the farm.

Throughout the academic year students will work on livestock management, conservation farming, farm maintenance and numerous aspects involved with running an organic farm. They will be hands on with sheep, including during lambing time, take care of our pigs and our poultry and at times our working dogs.

We keep and breed rare breed animals at Edfords so they will be involved in caring for chicks, piglets and lambs as well as poultry, pigs and sheep.

Sessions run Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 2:30pm, during term time.
