Specialist Programmes
Here at Edfords we provide a specialist learning provision, providing educational support for children, teens, and young adults with unique needs. Our aim is to provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for young people and give them the opportunity to take part in the daily tasks on the farm so they can feel valued and respected. Encouraging independence through a wide range of activities supported by our team of experienced support workers.
We deliver a student specific bespoke work skills programme where students work towards the AQA Unit award scheme so that individuals can have formal recognition for their learning and achievements. Specifically designed for people with additional needs, for whom traditional learning routes may not be suitable.
Our delivery focuses on animal care and land-based activities, enabling individuals to be independent and grow within our nurturing setting, contributing to their personal growth and social awareness and help them to develop skills for life.
Students are rewarded with a certificate for each unit of learning they complete meaning they can they can build up a portfolio of certificates to evidence their skills, knowledge, and experience all while taking part in fulfilling activities in an environment where they are able to be themselves.
Our Specialist Programmes can be offered alongside our Farm School and Work Skills Sessions depending on the age of the student.
Our farm activities include:
Animal care and welfare
Farm maintenance
Conservation projects
Nature walks and countryside exploration
Bushcraft
Den building
Horticulture
Rural Crafts
